WIENA
WIENA drives positive global change and innovation by uniting Intellectual Property and Entrepreneurship everywhere, at all times.
The World Innovation Entrepreneur(ship) Nurture Alliance (WIENA) was established to support and nurture creative and innovative ideas from around the world through entrepreneurship.
'WIENA' symbolizes a platform where diverse cultures and languages from across the globe harmoniously converge.
Through this, we aim to foster global entrepreneurship and strengthen collaboration to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The pronunciation 'wi-ee-na' can be interpreted as 'We' and 'Winner,' symbolizing the unity in innovation and mutual success.

WIENA Organizational Structure
- General Assembly : The highest decision-making body with participation from 192 member countries worldwide.
- Board of Directors : The body responsible for establishing and overseeing key strategies and policies, composed of experts from various fields.
- Secretariat : Manages the day-to-day operations of WIENA and executes various projects, led by the Secretary-General and comprised of diverse departments.
- Specialized Committees : Committees responsible for specific areas such as intellectual property, innovation, and entrepreneurship, with participation from experts in each field for in-depth discussions and research.
- Regional Offices : Located in key regions around the world to address local issues and facilitate cooperation among member countries.

WIENA owes its direction to the Early Visionaries present at the first gathering
This initiative began in line with
the 2023 World IP Day theme, <Women and IP>,
as we discussed more effective and sustainable ways to provide support.

- Ms. Helen LEE (Professor/University of Cambridge, France)
- Ms. Malathi Lakshmikumaran (Law Firm, India)
and
- Ms. Lisa Jorgenson (Deputy Director General, WIPO)
shared a common understanding that IP is crucial for global women and that support beyond education is needed.
It was emphasized that, unlike UN-affiliated organizations like WIPO, what private sectors can do differs, highlighting the necessity of a global network for a sustainable future.
At the meeting, the following was shared :
“Changing the world starts with creative ideas, which are completed through innovation and challenges by IP and entrepreneurship.
Let's build this journey together with women around the world. Let's move forward with excitement, hope, courage, and anticipation.”

2023 GENEVA Consensus
in celebration of World IP Day 2023
under the theme "Women and IP",
global female scientists, including UNESCO Women in Science laureates, gathered in Geneva to form a consensus on the need for mutual support for innovation and growth.
Specially, there is a need for the education of children, youth, and women. Through a virtuous cycle of innovation and entrepreneurship stemming from creative ideas for problem-solving, leading to IP commercialization, business development, and the donation of profits, the achievement of the UN SDGs becomes possible.
There was a consensus that educating on
Korea's remarkable innovation success stories
and sharing know-how through IP and entrepreneurship can accelerate success.
